O'Eclat Designs Co.

The use of indigenous fabrics, including batik, remains an unbroken love story for us at O’Eclat Designs and since we started our handbag production 10years ago in Lagos, Nigeria. it has continued to take a centre stage as part of our ethos to preserve our traditional techniques, culture, and heritage.

We like to describe the batik fabric as a painstaking hand-drawn and hand-dyed fabric commonly made with 100% cotton from the southwestern part of Nigeria. So it’s safe to say it is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art.

For all our fabric handbags, we use indigenous fabrics that tell age-long stories about the techniques used and the makers behind them. We work directly with these makers with whom we have formed relationships over the years to produce the indigenous fabrics we use for all our handbags.

So when we got contacted by the production team at Melia by Jade, a clothing brand very dear to our heart to produce travel totes, we jumped on it not only because we love COLLABORATIONS but also because of the choice of fabrics. These sets of totes will be available to shop at our Christmas pop-up event at the Lennox mall in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos on the 12th Dec 2021 and will also be available to shop from our website after the event.
