O’Eclat Designs (pronounced O-eyklah),
A Sustainable and Ethical Nigerian Brand designing handbags and accessories using premium leather and indigenous fabric , handmade in Lagos, Nigeria.
Established in 2010, O’Eclat Designs was born out of a need to find a good quality, perfectly sized and affordable handbag and clutch that fits all our essentials and allow us keep up with our everyday lives. The need encouraged us to find local skilled artisans who are into handbag making within the country.
our craftmanship
All our creations are lovingly handmade and locally produced by our dedicated team of skilled artisans in Lagos, Nigeria using the best materials, sourced locally. Each creation is one of a limited number due to craftsmanship involved and keeping to the brand philosophy of producing in very limited quantities to allow for a perfect uniqueness and individuality with key attention to details.
Our Products take inspiration from the beauty and complexity of the African heritage. The brand seeks to recreate contemporary and elegantly designed handmade purses and handbags using indigenous African fabric i.e. Adire (tie-dye)/Batik, Ankara, Aso oke (handloomed fabric) and Leather for the fashionable women. Most striking feature about our collection is the pervasive use of colours.
Our vision is to become a unique socially-conscious leather handbag and accessories brand for the modern day woman by providing quality and affordable leather goods which value longevity and individuality over the disposable.
Our mission is to continue to preserve our traditional techniques and heritage with our beautifully created artisanal and tasteful handbags and accessories that exude an elegant edge while also giving back to the community.

Gbemisola Johnson is the creative head at O’Eclat Designs, a designer whose passion and perseverance has earned her several accolades both locally and internationally including her two-time nomination as a finalist at the INDEPENDENT HANDBAG DESIGNER AWARD (Most Socially Responsible Handbag) 2015 and 2017.
